OUR HISTORY

Morgan Fuels has been in the fuel business based in Sioux lookout since 1935.

Originally founded by E. M. Morgan as a British American Oil distributor in Sioux Lookout,  Ontario.

In 1967 Lew Morgan, the son of E.M. Morgan took control of the business and saw the changes from British American to Gulf Canada and then to Petro-Canada.

In 1995 Darrell Morgan became involved with the family business, during a time when Petro-Canada was rationalizing its network. At this time Darrell Morgan joined forces with Carter Rice Esso and Imperial Oil under the ESSO brand.

In 1998 Darrell Morgan bought out Carter Rice Esso in Sioux Lookout. The Morgan Group of Companies is still a family owned and operated business. Both Anne and Darrell Morgan were born and raised in Sioux Lookout.

Morgan Esso grew and prospered under the Esso brand and in 2001 Morgan Esso became a full Branded Esso reseller in the Sioux Lookout Market.

In 2003 Morgan Esso purchased the Carter Rice Esso Pickle Lake Agency from Imperial Oil and turned this into a full branded reseller for Imperial Oil.

We now have 2 bases of operations. The Sioux Lookout office serving the Sioux Lookout, Savant Lake, Hudson, Lac Seul and Slate Falls  markets.

Our Pickle Lake operation serves the Pickle Lake area and all First Nations communities to the north of Pickle Lake in the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation territory.

Our customer base covers residential home heating, small commercial, tourism, railroad, mining, First Nations, aviation and forestry sectors. We focus on truck delivery and fly out services for fuel and oils and have a strong hold on the winter road business for delivery to First Nations.

Our business has grown significantly over the past 10 years from a 3 man 2 truck operation to 30 man operation with 21 trucks and over 40 million litres in sales.

Morgan Esso – Sioux Lookout and Area fuel sales and heating sales company.
Morgan Oil – Pickle Lake and area fuel sales Company.
Morgan Transfer – Trucking and haulage company.
